Moving to Bainbridge Island

We got a call yesterday from a moving company in New York asking for help on moving a family to Bainbridge Island. It's tricky getting moving trucks to some Washington islands so I put together a list of how we do it. (Talk to Heidi, Melonie, or Kristy about how to schedule your loading and unloading to meet the ferry schedule and what size truck to use -- there is an art to it.)
  • Anderson Island- Ferry from Steilacoom.
  • Bainbridge Island - Drive on from the North through Poulsbo area, or take the ferry from downtown Seattle.
  • Camano Island- Drive on from Stanwood.
  • Fidalgo Island - Drive on through Mt Vernon on Hwy 20.
  • Fox Island - Drive on from Key Peninsula near Cromwell.
  • Guemes Island - Ferry from Anacortes.
  • Hat Island (Gedney Island) - Private ferry.
  • Herron Island - Ferry from Herron on Key Peninsula.
  • Ketron Island- Ferry from Steilacoom.
  • Lopez Island - Ferry from Anacortes.
  • Marrowstone Island - Drive on from near Port Townsend off Hwy 116.
  • McNeil Island - Ferry from Steilacoom.
  • Orcas Island - Ferry from Anacortes.
  • Raft Island- Drive on from Key Penisula off Kopachuck Drive.
  • San Juan Island - Ferry from Anacortes.
  • Steamboat Island - Drive on from Hwy 101 just West of Olympia.
  • Vashon Island- Ferry from the South through Point Defiance, from West Seattle through Fauntleroy, or from Port Orchard area through Southworth.
  • Whidbey Island- Drive on from the North through Mt Vernon; or take the ferry to the South end from Mukilteo, or to the West from Port Townsend.
